Embarking on the journey of adopting a sighthound from Sighthound Rescue South Africa (SRSA) is a rewarding and life-changing experience. Our adoption process is designed to ensure the best match between our loving sighthounds and their potential new families

Our adoption process

  • Step 1

    Complete the pre-approval form 

    This helps us understand your background, environment, and lifestyle to ensure a good fit for both you and the sighthound.

    Please note, our hounds can travel nationally, however, that may incur transportation costs on your end.

    Get pre-approved 

  • Step 2

    Home-check
    Once your application is preliminarily approved, we'll arrange for a home-check at a time that's convenient for you. This visit is an essential part of the process, ensuring that your home is a safe and suitable environment for a sighthound.

  • Step 3

    Finalising the adoption
    Once you've decided on your new furry family member, the final step is to sign the adoption agreement and pay an adoption fee of R2000.

    This fee helps us cover some of the costs associated with the care and rehabilitation of our sighthounds.
