Embarking on the journey of adopting a sighthound from Sighthound Rescue South Africa (SRSA) is a rewarding and life-changing experience. Our adoption process is designed to ensure the best match between our loving sighthounds and their potential new families

How to adopt

  • Step 1

    Complete the pre-approval form

    This helps us understand your background, environment, and lifestyle to ensure a good fit for both you and the sighthound.

  • Step 2

    Home check
    Once your application is preliminarily approved, we'll arrange for a home check at a time that's convenient for you. This visit is an essential part of the process, ensuring that your home is a safe and suitable environment for a sighthound.

  • Step 3

    Choosing your companion
    After a successful home check, you'll have the opportunity to apply for a specific hound that you feel is a perfect match for your family. We're here to guide and assist you in choosing a sighthound that aligns with your lifestyle and preferences.

  • Step 4

    Finalising the adoption
    Once you've decided on your new furry family member, the final step is to sign the adoption agreement and pay an adoption fee of R1900.

    This fee helps us cover some of the costs associated with the care and rehabilitation of our sighthounds.
